Old MacDonald’s Farm – What is it?
We went on one of the hottest days of the year but still, Old Macdonald’s Farm & Fun Park was a haven of fun, both indoors and outdoors. The traffic on the M25 was bad but we still made it in time. The farm features a diverse array of animals, including traditional farm animals like pigs, goats, cows, chickens, ponies, and shire horses, as well as more exotic creatures such as meerkats, rheas, llamas, alpacas, and tortoises. The farm hosts special events, workshops, and animal petting sessions throughout the year, especially during school holidays.

Personal Experience
Like other families we spent nearly a full day at the farm, from opening at 10:00 until about 3 when the heat defeated us, thoroughly enjoying the variety of activities. The staff’s friendliness and the evident care for the animals contribute to a positive atmosphere at Old Macdonald’s Farm. We appreciate the inclusive nature of the ticket price, allowing unlimited access to most attractions. There is a review on trip advisor saying that most of the activities require additional payment – this isn’t the case at all. Like any such park, there are some of those little rides that need a £1 to operate but not many.
Pros:
- Wide range of activities suitable for different ages
- All major attractions included in ticket price
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Well-maintained facilities and animal enclosures
- Educational elements incorporated into the fun
Cons:
- Some additional costs for certain rides and animal feed
- Food and drinks can be a bit pricey – but aligned with similar places and much cheaper than Chessington or Alton Towers.
Overall Rating: 4.5/5 stars
